I figure there should be some sort of 9/11 remembrance that doesn't evolve into a spat over politics, so simply talk about where you were on the morning of September 11th, 2001.

I got woken up by a phone call; apparently my dad was supposed to be on a plane flying to New York and a friend was checking if he was alright.

I was playing world of warcraft 3 when 8 till my mom told me the news, then I said uh huh im playing a game go away

You were playing World of Warcraft 3 in 2001?

..anyway, I was on a school trip to a cottage up in the mountains. Some of my classmates and my teacher were listening carefully to the radio, and I asked them what they were listening to. Then they said that some a plane had crashed in NYC. I'm all "... k catch you later" and went off to play.
When I got back and turned on the TV the day after, I was pretty shocked to be honest.

I didnt remember, i was only 8!!!

I was playing Zelda: Majora's Mask

Then my dad got home from work and said did you hear about New York? - Put the news on.

I promptly paused the game and put the news on.

I was sleeping, then my mother came to tell me what was going on in the TV (desperately as usually)... I thought, wow I should see that, but couldn't resist the pleasure of sleeping. So I just kept on sleeping. I think I saw the videos like 1 year or more after it happened O.o

Was playing star wars jedi power battles on the PS1 with a friend. I cared more about the boss we were fighting at that particular time.
