Pysics also, low sys requirements.. I can play on all my systems, very well done AI and pathfinding and such so offline play can still be a blast, simplicity and speed of mapping as compared to other popular online games (3d, etc.), tons of maps to try from many talented map designers (VTT's tw maps are a favorite), the gory explosions and that after discovering Soldat - it became one of the games that inspired me to stick to learning to 2d (multiplayer) game design and programming.

The arsenal of weapons and how they're each so different from each other. The countless number of game modes, along with the player-created game mode: ZOMBIE!. The cooperation amongst players (when it exists).

The bots and the easy modification access which has granted me so much enjoyment. The amount of customization involved when it comes to general game play (weapon mods, player appearance, game mode, survival mode, maps, etc. etc.). The diversity in the communities. THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS WHICH DON'T REQUIRE A 300$ GRAPHICS CARD.

1. The fact that it WORKS smoothly. Unlike other games. Also, as someone said, it doesnt require a $300 graphics card to play.

2. Relatively idiot and hacker free. (don't believe me? Play soldier front) I would only say that like 1% of the population cheats. Usually when I am suspicious, at least 1 other person is too. Sometimes it is blatant, but sometimes it is subtle. If it is blatant, I try to kick them. If it is subtle, I accuse, but dont try to kick (for example, I just played a game where some barrett guy hit like every single shot WHILE MOVING, also, nades would randomly hit me at nearly impossible angles, I couldnt prove it, but I typed "aimbot much?"). But yeah, of people I KNOW are hacking, there is only like 1 out of 100. Compare with soldier front where like 50% of all games have a glitcher in them, or a lagger with like 500 ping.

3. SOMEWHAT of a balance in weapons. I also put this in my hated section, but at least there is some balance. It might not be perfect and needs to be tweaked, but it is good.

4. Variety of weapons.

5. Fast paced game play.

6. Variety of game modes.

7. Kick function. Some people despise it, but trust me, Ive seen the alternative. I would rather have a kick function with people occasionally getting unfairly kicked than see no kick function and cheaters run rampant because you cant get rid of them.

8. The premium content doesnt give an unfair advantage. I know in a lot of games people can buy their ways into greatness. While Soldat has lots of good features for those who pay, it doesnt affect the gameplay itself. For a free, unregistered player like me, this is a good thing.

9. Modability.

The community is my favorite part.  The fact that the community caters to people learning and supports the learning/growth of scripts/programming/modding/mapping/everything.

The low system requirements and the fact that an indie game has made it this big is also amazing, and I want to support that the best I can,  be it in Soldat, link-dead, or elsewhere.
