The Mark. Heard of it? It's a rip off.

Basically, the creators of the game blatantly ripped off the full story from "Scarecrow" - a novel by Sydney (Australia) author Matthew Reilly.

The story is mirrored exactly (except for a few cosmetic and character changes), right down to not only the sequence of events, but the filenames in the system folder!

Despite his hobby of trolling starting to get dull, I'd have to agree with frogboy. I really don't care if it's a rip-off. What is so fascinating about this game other than it may be a rip-off? Are there any interesting copyright lawsuits coming from it?

There are problems though; JoWooD is almost a nonentity, and suing an eastern-european publishing house that has a reputation for being very shady and underhanded would be a money pit few would like to fill. Another problem is that T7 Games, the devloper, doesn't even have their own website. It seems nobody made this game. It just came about accidentally. Oddly, some quality aspects of the game show it was a labour of love to someone (ie: the texture artist).

Unfortunately, there isn't much that there can be done about it.  Other than boycotting it.

I think I would be pissed off if someone ripped off something I wrote.
Heck, people get roasted on the net for posting other people's stuff without credit.
