Weapon Accuracy
« on: November 20, 2007, 11:43:10 pm »
I am designing a weapon mod around the Halo universe and I have run into a problem with weapon accuracy. I have tried setting bink and recoil (in normal mode) to zero (0), but the weapon still fires inaccurately when standing up. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Here are the exact specs for the weapon:
[Steyr AUG]
Damage=85
FireInterval=5
Ammo=32
ReloadTime=100
Speed=350
BulletStyle=1
StartUpTime=0
Bink=0
MovementAcc=1
Recoil=1
//The MA5C Individual Combat Weapon System (Assault Rifle) is arguably the most versatile troop weapon in the UNSC. This weapon has no 'niche' to speak of and can be used effectively in just about every engagement.

Movement acc is what you are looking for. The higher that is, the more inaccurate the gun is. Set it to zero and you're set.

Edit: also, I think speed 5 is cursed. Every auto with that fires inaccurately, I believe.

I have tried speed 4 and that makes the weapon accurate while standing, but it throws off accuray whilst crouching. Somebody needs to work the magic!

I'm pretty sure there's some unchangeable coding on the steyr that makes it permanently inaccurate no matter what the value. Same for the other weapons, just not as noticeable. Try making the barret and the minigun perfectly accurate with a fire rate of 0 and see if you can spot the difference :P

Whilst firing... press and hold the throw weapon key.. and that will make your bullets very accurate.... but the catch is they'll only fire at a 45 degree angle upwards...

Anyway.. you could always set it to 0 fire interval and then it wouldn't need to be accurate..  :P

If interval is set to 4, the gun fires perfect while standing. Never been able to find a combination that shoots perfectly while crouching, though.

Yeah, noticed this bug before. Setting acc to 0 actually is kinda counterproductive, I find. Setting it to 1 is my recommended remedy.

Steyr's first bullet always goes off the aim. Thats somekind of bug that only a semi automatic-ish setting of the weapon would solve, or making it a somekind of automaitc shotgun. The "magical" setting is the screen shaking.
mp5 doesn't shake the screen so much, but other weapons like the minigun do. While your screen shakes the cursor changes coordinates thus changing the accuracy.
