DM_Botanicals \ DM_Green Reactor

These are the first two maps I made.

Botanicals: This one is a WIP because it's not completely waypointed, and the waypointing I have done is pretty weak and unpredictable.

Green Reactor: This one's pretty simple, and it's waypointed.  It could easily be a HTF map too.

Oh well, they remember me LOTS to a default map...
I would like see more maps from you, you got much potential.

Very nice defaultish Factory-styled maps. Gameplay on Botanicals would be strange seeing as how the right side would be a spray-happy area and the left would be spawn and run to the spray-happy area. Green Reactor is pretty confined in a circle and would be better if there was a few places to go other then in just 1 circle. Very nice though in look department.

Ya, I styled both off of Factory a lot.  I decided to play it safe for my first maps.  I'm working on something a little bolder for my next release.  Thanks for the feedback.

And I'll take that advice Unlimited.  Green Reactor was my first map so I didn't try anything too interesting, but I'll try to branch it out.

Alright, I love the fact that you've only made two maps, yet you're already bold and seem to be experienced enough to make bold approaches towards mapping. I'm liking the Botanicals map. I'm assuming you've been playing Soldat for a while though. If not, I'm even more amazed. These maps aren't amazing, but for mapping firsts, they are rather innovating and different.

Nice job!

For first maps, these are pretty damn nice.  You have a lot of potential and I see you as the next generations of great mappers.

Botanicals is an amazing map.  Great layout and shading job.  If it was re-sized, it could possibly be an infiltration map. 

Green Reactor is too simple though.  It won't be very Hold the Flag fitting because those maps have to have a structure in which you can cycle the entire map to run from your opponents.  With a layout such as that, you can't move anywhere.

how about some gratitude for ripping off MY MAPS thank you, but it is good that you started off with MY design, cheers. Nice tries. Not even gonna playtest them- I've got right about enough of that interior thank you.

He did state that he did it in the same style as Factory. What more do you want? Or will you sue him for plagiarism? Wonder why no one attacks chakapoko maker for his mapping style being similiar to MM's at that rate. ( plus Factory is crap anyway (; ).

Not bad for first maps, you got the basics: be vary of using too small polygons, too many verticles or too much very straight surfaces. They make polybugs and jumpy areas, plus they favour spray too much with all the ricochet. Less tight areas, more colliders and you'll be doing some fine maps.
