Soldat/Lappy - Not good
« on: January 20, 2008, 05:10:36 am »
Hey ladies!
So I've downloaded soldat onto this laptop I've had lying around forever.. Its pretty old, but should be more than good enough to run soldat. Anyway, whenever I do run soldat, it's all blurry. I mean, I can play, but it's like the screen lacks a little behind, you know?

I've noticed this whenever I installed soldat on any laptop. I spoke to a4yo about it yesterday, and apparently it's not a problem with the setup.

Any idea what might cause this?
Thanks in advance,
echo

First of all, your signature size is too big. 24,55 kb.

Use the lowest settings and update your drivers.

If you are playing fullscreen, then it will appear blurry because Laptops screens have a native resolution (as with all LCD screens), and most likely the aspect ratio isn't 4:3, so when playing it not only has to stretch it to fit the native resolution, it probably also has to stretch it more one way than the other.

Chris, does that mean that if I run it in windowed mode, I will be able to see things clear, even if I stretch it to match the borders of my screen?

If you stretch it in windowed mode it will look the same as normal fullscreen; if you play straight windowed mode without resizing it will be fine.
