USB Stick Games
« on: February 09, 2008, 08:40:56 pm »
Can any game or most games be installed on to a USB stick and actually work? I heard you can do that for Soldat and I was wondering if you could do that for Gunbound. Also how do you install Soldat on to a USB stick?

Just copy all of the Soldat files into a folder on your USB stick and you can run it from there. This should work with other games as well, but they might play very slowly...

Depends on your USB version.  If you're running Pentium 4 with a 2.0 USB, Soldat and any game will work fine.

YSFLIGHT, Unreal Tournament, and apparently you can get GTA san andreas on there as I saw some asian kid do it at a computer lab in my school.

If you REALLY want to carry games around, buy a 20GB portable hard drive.

But If you have a 1GB USB like moi:

Soldat
All of the Quake series basically
Older DOS games (if you're running XP with compat mode or something)
UT99
Alot of emulators will work
MDK2

and that's about I've ever ran at my school...

Generally speaking, it's the older games that tend to work without the program files.  Have fun!   ;)

tyrian
openttd

and you can run dosbox from an usb drive, so there's a huge load of games to choose from right there

Most game will work on a USB stick. The problem will most likely that you'll have longer loading times if it's a slow device.
