Fraps + Battleye = Ban
« on: February 23, 2008, 09:17:21 pm »
So about 5 minutes ago I tried to play on -=[AK]=- Public server whilst running fraps (with the intention of recording gameplay) and as soon as I joined the game I was banned by battleye.

Yay.  >:(

From what I understand, BattlEye does not make friends with any kind of video-recording program.

On the bright side it was only a 5 minute ban  [pigtail]

Yeah BE will see it as "bad". Just record a demo and then record the demo with fraps.

I thought the problem with fraps was the FPS overlay (direct3d hook #2)

Just checked on some BE enabled empty zombie server for 5 minutes--with the fps overlay disabled I was able to record a movie in fraps.

I tried that a few times, and it didn't make any difference. :/
