Impending doom anyone.
I recognize the whole "ZOMG GLOBAIL WARMANG!" thing, but it existed before Al Gore spouted liquid Philosophy from every orifice. People panicked because Al gore pretty much said we would all die a horrible gruesome death because our earth would represent the red spot of Jupiter, all angry and death like. But the fact is, Global warming existed BEFORE Al Gore was born, before he became a figurehead and a public speaker, but he decided enough was enough let's get on my high horse and tell the world we will be fecked tomorrow.
What's wrong with informing?

Of course I tried watching The Inconvenient Truth and as cliche as this may sound - it was fucking boring and I couldn't get past the first twenty minutes.

Your argument is so compelling. How many hours did it take you to establish your stance on the subject? Your support detail is so dead on.

Like it would really happen?

It's not going to happen, it will pass; then in a few years time there will be a similar warning, and then another some years after that, then another. Notice how these 'OMG end of the world!11' warnings are always in the near future?

The Mayan calandar doesn't end on 2012 because they predicted the end of the world; they just ran out of space on the rock.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

Oh no! The Christian calender ends on December 31st this year! We are all gonna die!
[/sarcasm]

The fact that the calender end's doesn't mean shit. What does matter on the other hand is, what exactly this date marks. If you where to read this thread you would know that the universe will be aligned on that date. Its just the beginning of a new age and supposedly there is going to be a drastic change to humanity in this age.

There's nothing wrong with informing, but there is with the way it was informed.
Al Gore wanted to make an impact, so he thought the best way to "inform" was to induce the world in panic "the world will END, unless we do this..." it was a way to get free coverage, not that he really needed it with all the money he has, on the subject. "WORLD DOOMED, unless..." makes a much better heading than "World in possible danger, how to fix it?".

Besides, what can we do to fix it, It isn't broken. Global warming is a cycle, not a one off thing.
You can't fix what isn't broken, you'll only break what is fixed.
Lol, internets.
