Need Answers on why ppl say barret sucks!

Barret was a perfect weapon until it got those nerfs , charged shoot , movement accuracy and bink.

Then scrubs appeared to deploy an endless river of tears and whining and now it can only be used as a defensive weapon.
Now some will jump here to say " n00b it can be used both ways". I say no.

Rushing with barret is imposible now. Just play againts automatic users with acuracy and reflexes. Bink wont let you hit him. Dont tell me "learn to aim". When you get killed by a barret user after you got 3 of your bullets on him is because of pure luck.


So, you use it to snipe, defensively or to give cover to your teammates. You get almost an instant vote kick.

Thats why its sux"" , because barret users have a better aim and ppl ( rushers ) dont like to be killed by ghost bullets.

Next weapon to be nerfed until its useless: M79

First of all, the Barrett has always been supposed to be a sniper. Of course it isn't meant to rush. That's why there's movementacc and bink. And look at how everyone could overcome movement inaccuracy. Look at how overused and overpowered the Barrett would have been especially without some of those nerfs.

Have you heard of this? 1-hitters stand a chance against EVERYTHING. Just make sure you get the first shot in and you win. And Barrett has the range and the scope. That's good enough. If you're not happy about these nerfs, I'll tell you something. The Barrett will fire slightly faster. That's a good buff for the Barrett.

Now, if there were none of these nerfs, basically everyone would use the Barrett. Then Soldat would become a "who can shoot who first" game.



Instant vote kick for using a sniper in that defensive way? What kind of server are you playing? Some nubbish pub server?



Come on, if you want to rush with a gun like Barrett, you might as well use the Ruger or M79. But if you're loyal to the Barrett, just find a way to go on the offensive with it. It is still pretty possible. Just master the timing for the startup time, get your shot in before others do, and there you go.

You can shoot a sniper rifle with/without using the scope and you are not necessarily losing accuracy.

And about the "shoot first and you win" , even if you have good reflexes a bullet of minimi/ruger/ak/aug/Deagle will hit you first. I do this and works on every sniper that try to rush.

So a barret user if forced to advance using the scope and i cant call this rush.

I prefer this way , but i would like to have the option of rushing to the EFC to stop him or to getting the flag before he reaches it.

Errm, not really the case 100% of the time about your view about "shoot first and you win". It really depends on who you are facing and how far you are from each other. I mean, people do get caught off-guard or do not pay enough attention, and therefore their bullet may not reach first. Besides, Barrett has the highest bullet speed in the game, and its scope allows you to see further away and shoot before he can see you.

And no, I'm not saying the Barrett can be used to rush, but it can still be used offensively.

The barret is meant to rush. That's how I always looked at it. I can't stand sitting at one spot with a scope. It is just so dull and boring. Oh yeah, I never use the scope nor do I ever prone in the air and shoot. Soldat is meant to be fast paced and should stay that way. Even if the barret is meant to be defensive, screw that and rush. That goes along with every weapon.

P.S. I am not complaining about the balance. It's just fine. If you complain about the weapon so much, simply switch. If you pride it so much and are also too stubborn to change your weapon, then there's your problem.

Barrett is a very good rush weapon if you can spare the time to dodge bullets while reloading

Its best used with other players rushing with you, every hit you make takes a load of pressure off your team, if you are more organised than your enemy group you can easily overpower them.

This happened to me many times before, particularly in INF

Spas12 kills in one shot, why do people not moan about that, well OK, it's only a one shot kill with the right momentum, but if the barret took no skill to use, then I would be able to use it, seriously, I fail with that weapon, and if you dont know how to predict a shot and bounce your shots off of the terrain then you deserve to die...


Besides... M79 and Law, tell me how that requires skill?

M79= huge arch that sucks in long range shots and hard to master
Law= you actually have to stop moving to shoot it and again has arch
Sniper=no arch just aim and shoot

None. Because the barret can be easily countered by small amounts of spray, has huge delay, has a long firerate, and big movement inaccuracy.

Actually, the Barret HAS an arc... try shooting it over a longer distance and you'd notice it.

There's no weapon that requires absolutely no skill.
