er, she says nothing about using the GIMP (unfortunately).   I'd imagine that the general tutorial will still work with the GIMP, or at least be very helpful

its for photoshop 7.0 (i use this one) ... Its not the newest versions so you can basically download it *cough* cough* legally *cough* cough* anywhere!

Wow awesome picture. Man, i wish i could draw. I'm ok with Photoshop CS, but i suck at drawing on a sketch pad  :P .

The shading part reminds me of painting WarHammer figures. It's the same process if you want to shade them really good.

It is proportional enough for a cartoon ( you can't really turn it into a photorealistic piece, but that's not the point, is it? ). Technically, the body is about 1.2 head lengths too long by Marvel standards.
I like the wrinkles and the slightly impressionistic effect you acquired by adding the sketch over top of it.

All in all, I give you the thumbs up!
