Non-Human Gosteks
« on: May 16, 2008, 09:52:46 am »
Would it be possible to create a Gostek (for bots) that wasn't a guy with customizable clothing? I'm totally new to the modding thing, but I want to try this.

Well, technically, yes. There have been a number of different gostek mods that range from mechs to aliens. So long as you follow the format, you aren't limited as to what you create.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

Yeah you can pretty much make anything with arms, legs, and a head.  But it can be difficult because the gosteks are very small, and should not be made much bigger than they are by default.

If you don't mind spending a long time, you could even edit the animations and create something that soldat has never seen before.

Albeit something that isn't multi-player friendly. Think LOL-mod.

Good modder can abuse Soldat engine to the max and make gosteks without modifying animations.
