Anyone that knows about computers Help D:
« on: June 12, 2008, 12:44:42 am »
OK, I'm getting a new comp for about ~$400 just the tower, with all of the crap inside(amd athlon 64 X2 +3800, 2g DDr ram, Geforce 7900gt (overclocked) and the motherboard and etc)
And I'm going to install xp, after I do what do I do, do I find drivers for the cpu, graphics card or does it like install by it self. Anyone know ? ( Idk how to ask this, so if you didn't understand mb)

It should detect them on its own, thats what mine always did with new hardware, but you will have to update them yourself.

I would download all the updated drivers now and burn them to CD, that way you have them readily available when you set up your PC. Couple with that your anti-virus(avg, avast, etc)+anti-spam utilities (spybot, ad-aware) and other such utility software (crap cleaner, for example) and it'll make setting up your new PC much easier.

If its DDR and not DDR2 then your computer will suck. But thats more than probably a typo, so yeah

It will run fine without doing anything, but to play games you will have to update drivers for your graphics card. Just find them online.
