Krack's Mapping Log [Updated 7-9-08]

Mapping Log:

--June 16, 2008--

Right now I'm working on a map in a TW/INF kind of style. No scenery. Just polygons.

-=Screens Coming Soon=-

--July 9, 2008--

Man... I haven't updated this log in a while.

Just making a regular TW/TTW map.

Here's some teasers of what's coming up in my latest map.

The Red Insignias located on the flags, bridge, and bunker are those of the Alpha Team.
There's also Blue Insignias.
I just came up with it so... Deal with it! ;D

This is some trench-like bunker I made from boredom. Really I didn't know what I was doing.
Looks funny to me but didn't want to take it out without consulting with the viewers. ;D
So... Should I keep it? Any improvements for it?

The Ruins was something I made due to the lack of 'War-Torn' locations on the map.
I thought it really needed more rubble. To me it looks too pale.

Suggestions and blah blah?

Updated the Ruins:

As you can see I added more floors to it. I'm thinking about making the 'Pillars' scenery so they can be in the background.

Updated the Alpha Team's Bridge:

Added a entrance way at the back.

Suggestions and blah blah?

looks really nice! but the last screenshot doesnt really look TW-like, because there seem to be several routes.. a small tunnel is fine, but dont split the gameplay.
there isnt a real polygon limit, but MANY polygons will cause some bigass FPS lag. i wouldnt go much higher than 2-3000 polygons.

My airplane failed.

So

Too many polies cause lag, and you are always behind the polies.

So I don't think this will turn out too well.

Regardless of the to-be-enormous polygon count, and I think this map is pretty sweet looking so far for not having any scenery. I'd say continue it, but if the polygon count is really reaching high numbers, don't try to be too fancy ;)

Sandbags look absolutely massive. Since when did water flow uphill?

you can also make a screenshot of a bigger or often occuring polyart, and then use the scenery instead of the polys..

How many polygons have you used so far?

Around 2500... I'm thinking about making scenery of the polygons so they can be in the background. Still thinking about it.
It would really reduce the polygon number.

the bridge is looking sweet but 2500 is far to many polygons
I don't understand
do you mean that there is a /faceplam commmand ?
and this command should drop a random item ?
