I don't think I'm so much against a swear filter itself as much as that everyone just breaks it all the time. If the board is to keep this, I should not be able to read a staff member post "Sh!t" as I have. The staff should abide by it since they are in a respectable position and it wouldn't be encouraging at all to general community behavior and manner to watch them break their own rules.
In short, all the staff should be like The Geologist.

Apparently most of the staff doesn't even care about curbing vulgarity (even promoting it, as shown by the "Floppy Disks" title edit, by none other than Amblin himself), so the filth here might as well be unleashed to its full extent—a swear filter makes it not just hypocritical, but very shallowly superficial at that when seen in the light of actions like these. Indecision is not far from being pathetic, even in comparison to the blatantly wrong choice.

I completely agree, man. We can talk about all kinds of inappropriate sexual crap, with clear and colorful imagery but can't even say "shinyfoo"? Punishing the mods wouldn't do crap, since most of them have been here long enough to consider themselves invincible gods.
