What's your favourite wood to strip bark from

I myself like birch, the bark is pretty soft and bendable and you can use it for lots of things (even sunglasses).

Sometimes, if I need something stronger or more rigid, I strip pine bark. Of course the older the bark is the more uneven the surface is, sometimes you need rough bark, sometimes you don't.

I like oak because it stains so nicely, so i have something to do after strippin the bark.

ok man i'll try to reply 2 ur thread 4 realz

so what i no about bark strippin is dat its real hard 2 start this hobby. so many barks to choose from n its very hard 2 master the teknique of pros. so i was just in the forest yesterday while i was looking at trees and i though t to myself "holy shit man dats a shitload of bark LoL" then i started stripping the bark with my bare hands and my face. i applied gentle force to the weak looking points of the bark and it {came off} like nothing at all n i felt like a golden god... i was a bark stripping genius boy... sudenly i realize i am just dreaming i wake up and say fuck this man i'll never strip bark again fuck

oak is cool as a wood but that's a bit off topic i'm talking specifically about ~*~bark~*~ but i guess i can't blame people for going off topic this is the lounge after all, lol :)

i guess this thread could be expanded to wood and also bark strippign stories, those can be prettyu cool

one time the sun was shining pretty hard and i was like "hey man ti'me to make myuself some birch sunglasses" and i stripped a birch and put two slits in the bark and put it on my face because thats what exskimos do to make the snow's bioluminsenesce to hurt their eyes
