M 79 whiner noobs?

I keep hearing that all the time(But I dont use m79 much)
I mean, m79 is a regular weapon like all the others, so why
only this? Why not ak47? Because m79 is killing in 1 hit?
I can tell you that not alot people know how to use m79
anyway.
You need good timing for hiting from far away, which is hard
(not when you get used to it)

What? You think the M79 is unpopular because of somekind of racial prejudice against it?

The real reason is that it's cheap. Arguably not overpowered, but still cheap. I would've thought that point was made clear earlier in this thread and the other 1001 threads made about it. It's the noob tube; a nice introductory weapon for people who don't want to face the nasty learning curve of Semi-autos and (depending on the weapon) full-autos.

m79 is a noob weapon in many eyes because you dont realy need skills for it,
the most newbs start with the weapon because you dont have delay etc etc etc
you only have to shot and it kills alone,
its hard to dont hit anyone with it.

I use M79 usually, I get some nice arcs, and use it in those situations, I hardly ever suicide with it, you can jump with its boost, it's like, a 3-in-one weapon:

- 1 hit kill
- Can boost
- Has arc (That's good if you domine it, to get some kills that'd be impossible to be made with any other weapon)

yeah, the arc is pretty useful
I used to use it as an alternative primary weapon, but gave up since my accidental kamikaze kills really got frowned on
And I pretty much prefer the scope on the barrett... if it's good terrain, you can hit the guy before he sees you; bad terrain, run and hide, then fire when he's not looking =P

M79 is the only one-hit kill with no startup time, that helps its noob status.

In my opinion, roll it back to 1.3.1 (longer reload time)




and, for people who say it's so easy to dodge when you're an auto user, on maps like dropdown2, arena2/3, 80% of the time there is no room to dodge.  It's also faster than you'd think. 

For me, the main source of it's annoyingness is that it pretty much kills all your speed, you dont need to be a step ahead of the enemy to kill them if they're rushing into your base and they haven't spotted you yet, since there is no startup, your awareness and sometimes reflexes are wasted (not needed) when defending in this situation

This is why they have the thing called "prone?" Since you can't jump, you can always prone, hoping that the guy with m79 will shoot you at torso.

The M79 is a bit unfair in some situations. But with proper skill you can use it to its full potential unlike some who only use it at close range. But a skilled M79'er can use its ability to curve and arch around terrain for some impressive kills. That being said, I don't think a professional M79'er should be disrespected for being good at something.

BlackRoses is completely correct. it's all in the way you use the M79. and even that does not signify a "M79 noob" an advanced M79'er sometimes has to get up close and personal. it's when they are ALWAYS up close and personal that signifies they are a noob. and even more, is when they have no concept of waiting till you finish reloading to charge into a fight. and they also have little concept of picking up a killed man's weapon as a secondary.

me? my main is the M79. always has been. most likely always will be. the difference betwen me and a M79 noob is that i don't die every two kills. if you can learn to use the M79 to it's full advantage, you can have the power of almost ten rugers, with little to no opposition. but not many people can do it, because it's just a hard weapon to learn and get accutomed to.

it took me about a month to learn how to bounce, to memorize the bullet speed, to vizualize the arc, and now? i can kill a man coming out of a full speed backflip from a couple hundred pixels. and you know, i'm still not the best. i get called hacker and stuff like that too, but only because unlike most noobs, who get frustrated and try other weapons, i didn't give up trying to learn the weapon.

so, in reality, all i'm trying to say is, who freaking cares if they call you a noob when you'r not, they're only just jealous that they can't get multikills using two M79's.
