Go crazy.
Does this game have a direct story line or more of a sandbox? And is there a point where you pretty much are invincible? Becuase I'm seriously considering buying it maybe eventually.

It kinda has a storyline, but you don't have to follow it. Like, there are quests, and you start by setting out t save your family, which can last throughout the game. But you can also just turn pirate and own everything in your path.

Yeah.. it's all I do right now. I pretty much devestate anything in my way, 'cause I'm "Duke" with all nations anyway. Which is of course what pirating is all about, stabbing your mates in the back and sink their ships.

I don't like how you get old and weak as you spread the loot and time goes by. I love realism in games, but I don't want my character to get older, in the same way that I don't want to play a 'Microsoft Tax Return Simulator 3'. another problems is that the characters look more like they're from Cinderella than Pirates of the Carribean, but you can download skins to make your character a bit more kick-ass.

Other than that and the characters looking more like they're from Cinderella than Pirates of the Carribean, it's a great game. :D

Ones character gets older? I hadn't noticed.. Gotta say that after a good 2 days, I'm getting pretty bored with it. It's a cool game, but as somebody already adviced, don't rape it by playing it too much in a streak.

Ya, your character gets older, though I can't remember if he actually looks different. And oddly enough, your family still look the same as in the first cutscene even though it's about 40 years later. I think the years really go by when you  do that 'divide the plunder' thing. Your character's reflexes grow gradually slower, making sword fighting suck.

I might actually buy Bethesda Softworks' Pirates of the Caribbean again. As I said before, it has a decent main quest, and the great music together with the multiple camera positions make the battles better than anything Port Royale 2 and Pirates! can offer. It got very boring at the end since you just sail around aimlessly pwning Frigates with your Ship of the Line, but there's some good mods out there now which should improve the gameplay alot, as well as address some bugs.

While it's not quite as sandboxy as Morrowind and Oblivion, PotC still has some of that epic Bethesda Softworks touch.
