Ctf_SpidaWeb

My newest and probably my best map Ctf_SpidaWeb! Please take a look at this map, I tried to make it as unique as posible. Please tell me if something needs fixing up or improving :)

How can u do such a good polygon work and ok scenery, then u add such ugly bright spiderwebs which really don't belong there.

The map is nicely done but there isn't any big idea which would make this unique, bridges are nice. Map is smooth and nonsprayable.

Gameplay > look... The spiderwebs bother whole gameplay cos they are so bright. Have u played tennis? Is it nicer to hit the ball when sky is cloudy u see the ball clear, or when the sun is glowing in ur eyes and u don't see a thing about ball?

Remove the shiny effect of the spiderwebs and it's all OK, I mean the spotlights I suppose you added to all of those. I like the layout :)

Just lower the opacity on the fx_li spotlights instead of removing the spiderwebs and thus make the map name seem pointless.

The layout is really good, all those Players Only Collide makes for some interesting gameplay, such as dropping a nade to the route under the one you're running on.

Only thing is that the low route seems to be the slowest and the most prone to grenade drops, while the middle route is fast. I don't know man, I need to waypoint this to see for myself how the gameplay works, or wait until it gets on a server. :)

I feel the spiderwebs are a nice addition to this otherwise plain atmosphere.  Even so, they feel out of place.

As for the layout, I agree with bn concerning the low route.  The large curves on each end will surely slow the player down.  You have an interesting middle route going on, the bases not so much.  All-in-all, decent layout but not unique.

Ok Ima go fix the spiderwebs being to bright and the top route, the spiderwebs was where i was trying to be unique instead of that same jungle or tech/steel feel to it.

Nice you added my suggestion  ;D But I still think that the fx_light spots should be somewhat less shinier, like -20% transparency or so, till they almost can't be noticed, but anyways, it makes the feel.

It should be fine now though, and if you had the fx_light spots so transperant that you can barely see it will only cause lag

Heh, I did the same thing myself to the map....lowered the opacity on all the spotlights down to 30%, then set the only-players-collide polygons at the center-top of the map to the back (minor polygon mistake, minor).

I already have this waypointed but only to myself.
