CTF Assists

Just yesterday I was playing CTF on ctf_run, and it was a close game (4 - 4).  My teammate had captured the flag and was running along the top, shooting at 3 guys that followed him with the mp44.  He saw me in the middle and came down; I killed all 3 opponants with the ruger, but one of them got him.  I picked up the flag, took out a final opponant in front of me, and scored.

Some time ago a similar event happened: We were on ctf_snakebite and it was tied again.  My teammate had the flag in the top section, but there were two enemies in our base, so he couldn't come down.  Through the right combination of luck and skill (probably 80:20 ), I put two ruger shots into each and dropped them.  I returned our flag, spun around, dropped to a knee, and LAWed another enemy as he was coming up.  We scored to win the game.

Obviously these moments are rare, but in each of those times I was reminded why I love Soldat.  It's a great feeling to shoot guys off a teammate's back, and it's a great feeling to have my teammates drop down and take out my pursuers when I have the flag.  Thanks Michal for the great game!

even better feeling is when your teammate knows that he's about to die and that you're healthy, so he'll throw the flag to you and fight off the enemies before he dies

Yea..I like when some guy jumps in the pit of equinox, knowing he doesn't have enough jet to get back, but throws it up to someone standing there waiting.  Same goes for Voland.  Although in Voland you do have enough jet, but throwing it above the bridge is much more honorable in my book.

The thing is that it's hardly accurate, you need to get very near or most likely the enemy will pick it up when it misses. Or at least it's like that with me.

In the map ctf_Starwars5 this guy and I were working together using flag tossing. He stayed in a shielded part of alpha's base waiting for flag and I sottod outside on only player collides window. Whenever he got the flag he tossed it out the window for me to grab, fly up to bravo's base, score then come back down to repeat the process which we did until we won. Cooperation like that is what wins the teams games not the "star player" calling the other teams noobs and running in blindly with an m79

Yeah, i was playing a mixed scrim last nite, and we were on Kampf, and it was 30 seconds before the end of the round, tied 1-1 and we had the flag, but the FFC was getting owned by 3 on red, and i had just came up and started rugering them, and he tosses the flag just before he dies, and i was like OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, turned around and supermaned into the flag area to cap 3 seconds before the end for the win.

the flag tossing is SOOO helpfull, espically in moments like that, if you can toss it right.  but i still see accidents when people toss the flag to the wrong person (IE the other team xD). but when someone tosses the flag, you know its good teamwork and not worried about scoring, but worried about the team winning. That is when soldat is at its funnest.

Then there's the people who steal the flag that you were heading for then chuck it to some unreachable place (I.E enemy spawn!) perfectly content to kill rather then flag cap. Or the guys that chuck the flag off the map so it ends up respawning. Or the noobs that never knew that up and down at same time throws flag and they end up losing flag to the other team...thats priceless.
