What's the deal with demos?
« on: September 23, 2008, 12:37:16 am »
Seriously, why is it that demos you record get played back horribly, the guns aim is all jerky, and half the time bullets are invisible.

Could someone explain why this happens and why it can't/isn't being fixed?

Don't spectate when recording demos. Less data is sent to people who spectate matches, unless the server setup says otherwise.

You still need to record a demo if you're wanting to get video off BE enabled servers, or you get kicked for a Direct3D hook.

None of those really explain anything. Why do bullets and player aim look fine when I am actually connected to an online server, yet in demos it comes out really fecked up? Would it be fixed if the demo's acted like a virtual server?
