ctf_sf_parkwars Early Release
« on: July 20, 2006, 06:35:43 am »
This is version one of the Park Wars map for the Battle for San Francisco map pack I'm working on - you can find that thread here
http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=2218.0

What you'll see is a modified cross-section of my city, this map with a focus on the park.  At the red spawn is Ocean Beach, with the Beach Shalet just before the park.  Golden Gate Park follows, with the center at Stow Lake.  The park comes out onto the Haight.

Jump around, and you'll find a grip o perches.

Map - ctf_sf_parkwars.pms
Players - 6-14
Mode - R/S
Polygons - 554
Scenery - 55
Colliders - 107
Custom Scenery - Yes (I believe in addition to my own, I owe credit to RiR, and a few unlabled pieces - if I owe you credit, tell me and I'll list it)
Waypointed - No (help welcome, but I don't plan on playing too much single player)

Overview

In-Game Screeny 1

In-Game Screeny 2

In-Game Screeny 3

Also check the other thread for earlier screenshots.

How has no one commented on this yet?

I'm from Northern California, and I know the area, and it looks a lot like it. You should consider adding a backdrop to give it a more city-like feel. For a first release it looks great. :D

I test played this a while back and forgot to comment.

I really like how you have made it so that players can run along the branches, jumping from tree to tree, it will make things very interesting. I think the lower part of middle area (the rocks just above the lake) needs to be slightly more rugged, at the moment it's completely flat.

In the city/town area where bravo spawn, there is some problem with a bit of scenery or something that's causing flickering between the buildings and footpath.

At alpha spawn, it is difficult to get past the stairs because of the entrance to the room directly underneath, you should move things around a little to make it easier.

Overall this is a great map but it needs a bit of work done to it.

I like the scenery usage and shading alot.

The downlad doesnt work, either post the map as an attachment on the forums or upload it to http://sml.u13.net
There are other worlds than these
