Far too many polys to be a good, playable map on most servers.  1000 polys or less, please.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

What i dont understand is how you can hate someone depending on what maps he or she makes, that sounds strange to me.

Shush x2. You take things too literally. I don't really mean hate as in hate. Anyway, what else can I judge you on when you've only been around here for about 20 posts?  ;)

Espadon summed it up pretty good, not that I consider myself a veteran... There have been attempts with 3D maps, but most of them have failed. I tried a few, and only hit some luck when I used a 3D background instead of making the whole map 3D (my Cementiod map...which still has some problems).

What does that even mean? You're basically just bashing him for the sake of bashing him.

On topic: 3d maps don't work. Soldat is a 2d game, and actually making the map with 3d figures with the intention of it being 3d will turn it into an Escher-esque nightmare. You shouldn't let visuals get in the way of good gameplay. If you want 3d effects, make the map first, make it play well, then make the visuals have neat 3d effects.

^ Eh this is if you actually want to make maps for Soldat. Sounds to me like you're more having fun with dragging around polygons, which is something that'll probably be more productive with a software designed for 3D modeling, as BSB said.

No, it was all meant as sarcasm. It's is entirely fail to use particular sarcasm like that through the internet because you can't really tell... So yes, just for the record, I was not serious in my "hating" statements.

I really don't think anyone (or very few) would hate you for making 3D maps, but people would probably very much dislike the maps, unless you did as Wraithlike suggested.
