Australia vs. U.S.A

Hi all, been a long-ish time since I last posted cuz I've been buzy and poo with ya' know....life? Anyway, for those of us who could answer this question,

How would you rate the Australian non realistic Soldat scene against the American soldat scene in terms of skill etc?

I know most of you wouldn't have played against many Australians, so dont flame me if you don't. So yeah, answer the question n' poo.

It's really hard to tell, especially if you're an all out realistic man such as myself. Not many aussies around, and I reckon you only really notice'em if they have a countrycode in their name. So while there's a disgustingly overwhelming amount of USA'ans playing, you guys(assuming you're aussie) kinda disappear in the flood.

Yeh, spose you are right. I am aussie and I must agree with you. The amount of U.S.A-an's playing these days is astounding. And the only real way to determine whether they are aussie or not is to look at their ping.

I reckon the Australian Soldat Scene isn't very strong at the moment, what with a lot of top clans disbanding (D:), so I wouldn't currently rate Australia as stronger than USA in skill and stuff, just equal. But if you go back about a year, I'd say you'd have Australia with a stronger skill level.

p.s. Now we get to find out who are Aussies on this forum.

Well, I've seen and met some Aussies. I'd say their skill levels are actually higher, but nowadays I don't really see much of a diff. Even if there is, it's a very small difference.

Well, the only australians I've played with really are the most skilled ones. As it's soldat, you can never really tell who's going to win, and it'd be retarded to judge a community by a clanwar anyways! Both communities are close-knitted(for lack of a better phrase) and still open to newcomers at the same time. This is becoming moreso with the creation(and now stability) of the #aus.gather channel. I've played quite a few times with 300 - 500 ping and never seen anybody whine, and when they do it's only a joke. I like both communities more than I like the euro communities though(I'm a self-hating bastard).
I'm not saying the european community is bad by any means, as Vv00t said, you will always have a ~+1/-1 retard ratio, and since the european soldat community is larger than both american and australian combined, you're gonna have a lot of idiots playing!

I don't think the aussie scene is that strong quite frankly, especially after their top 4 or 5 players. If you take aussie's top lineup and USA's top lineup, then its really a tossup and I won't be surprised if aussie wins, but after top lineups, USA easily dominates.

Just as an example, team USA recently played the "Top 2 clans" in the aussie scene (v and diamonds), and we dominated both clans rather easily, which just goes to show that other then their top 5 players the quality is not too high, because the top players in the aussie scene are not in the same clans like they are in SWC or SCTFL.
