So I was in eC Hexer server tonight, and it was a really close end to the match on B2B. We're all at base, waiting on the countdown, and I fire off a barret shot while I've got the flag to spy on the top.
The entire opposing team was on their way. Endgame, so why not? A nice little showdown in the final 10 seconds.
What I don't believe any of us expected, and what I certainly didn't anticipate, and now wish I had recorded, was what followed. As they approached, I jumped off the floating island in my base and fired off a shot that hit the flag carrier, Aquila. My teammates opened fire but I actually did a flip to return the flag, then hit a roll off the base's edge to launch myself down into our flag, capping with literally a single second left and scoring me my one point of BP I so desperately wanted.
Seriously, that was the best moment I've had on Soldat in ages, normally it's just been fairly normal, but MAN, there was just something about getting all of that to happen at once that was invigorating enough for me to do a Soldat-style endzone dance.
I'd like to thank Tequila for the opportunity to have such a thing occur. I figured he did it on purpose to have that endgame showdown, but I don't think any of us anticipated a final second cap >_>
Moments from my gloating after the cap included "HOLY poo I'M AWESOME, AND I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT", "I never get to showboat!", and my personal favorite, "WHO'S HOUSE IS THIS?! I SAID WHO'S HOUSE IS THIS!? THIS IS THE HOUSE THAT KAZ BUILT!" with a resounding "feck yeah!" from one of my teammates.
GOD that was fun. Seriously, made my night and I don't even know why. Just one of those rare moments where everything went totally and perfectly right.
This happened only moments ago, too. Only reason I came straight here to type it up was because I had connection problems and couldn't reconnect to the server on the map after the moment occurred.
