LAN Game?

I'm trying to host a LAN game with a friend, but the server doesn't appear in the lobby, and if we try to run an internet game, the game appears but neither of us can join. We are both in school, and running on the same ip, i think. Any help would be much appreciated.

The fact that you're at school probably has something to do with that

When I was in school, they put up a Firewall of some sort that blocks all inbound and outbound traffic except for Internet Explorer/Firefox/browsers

Just make a single player game, with bots or no bots or anything. Then write the internal IP like 192.168.1.x (x is the unknown number) and use the default port 23073. *NOTE 192.168.1.x might not be the internal IP of your router. Some other routers might have different digits. So go to Command Prompt and type 'ipconfig' with no spaces.

Somehow i can't find a game with my friend on lan so i just do that and it works. If it's buggy with too many bots, it's probably because there isn't enough spawn points so get rid of some bots.
