Its a useful trick if you know where and how to use it. Rolling over the right poly can drastically increase your speed, thanks to polybugs.

And as others have stated rolling can absorb some of the damage you would normally take.

I only find rolling damaging. eample, you're running backwards, and are supposed to crouch to avoid a barret shot, now because you make a misstake and presses down before releasing backwards, you'll nicly roll into the shot.

but, in general, rolling kills me more often than saving me.

Roll>Backflip>They lose track of you. Works fairly often. A great skill if used correctly. Also good if you roll off a point to go faster.

It's useful when a law rocket kind of uses the ground to slide and if you roll at the right time when the rocket begins to lift off you dodge that stuff.

It's useful in Dodgeball, when you're picking up a knife in the middle, if they throw a knife at you you can quickly dodge it, or, if they throw the knife and they were on the ground, you can actually roll UNDER the knife, when I do that it makes me feel invincible  8)
I'll make a siggy later.

It works with my general strategy pretty well, which is to run at people really really fast. It usually gets barrett users when I guess when theyre going to shoot and roll underneath the bullet. Although this doesn't work if they aim downwards :P

When i go play in Trench War, I usually roll for fast action packed shooting. Basically I go into the scene and start shooting. It's also useful for climbing (some maps).

Only time I ever roll is when I'm jumping down from a great distance; I start rolling as soon as I hit the ground and after that sprint across the ground. It helps when you're maneuvering around corners whilst dodging bullets.

The roll is one of the most useful moves in saw games. If you roll into an oncoming enemy, assuming they're not aiming down they will miss every time.

Good for when you're falling a great distance. It speeds you up if you're going down a slope

Fun fact: If you're rolling when a knife hits you it can never kill you

it speeds you up just so long as you're not touching the ground when you stop rolling.  try timing it so you roll off the edges of slopes and then jet boost across the map.
