Animated Avatars
« on: January 17, 2009, 09:32:44 pm »
Seeing as there is an option for how large the avatar can be, in both size and file size, why aren't we aloud to have GIF avatars? This avatar is really nice animated and it takes very little space. Plus, you still have the space used up by the fact that the image was uploaded to the site, so you aren't saving space by doing so.

Animated .gif avatars are allowed as long as they are not distracting and do not violate the filesize limits.

Yeah some guy had a solving Rubik's cube as his avatar, IIRC.  Don't remember who, though.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Best Admin: jrgp, he's like the forum mom and a pet dog rolled into one.

This file size is small, so why isn't it working?

Can you post the animated version of your avatar here?

It's over by 10 pixels, so the forums automatically resize the avatar to fit the set forum rules.

Once it's resized, though, it is no longer animated.

Yeah, Blue-ninja!

Xxypher, open that in whatever image editor you want that supports animated .gifs and have it resize it down to 90x90 then try using it. It'll work.
