CTF Amaranth

Amaranth

Amaranth is a latin-american type of crop as well as the title of a Nightwish song (one of my favs) from their album "Dark Passion Play". According to Wikipedia also some hedge-fund is also named this way   ::)

The bright red plants on the map are - bingo! - amaranth crops delivered as custom sceneries. ctf_Amaranth is a rather compact map but offers possibilities for quick, rushing attack play as well as more coordinated approaches. While the middle route requires you to operate fast, as it is a very open one and rather unprotected in the middle part, the upper and lower route get it on a bit slower but making the flagger less of a bullseye to his enemy followers.

There are no waypoints. If someone would like to add them, feel free, credits will be given of course.

Amaranth also supports regular deathmatch play and should do quite nice for it (testing required).

I think, that middle part can be left the way it is at the moment, but moving could be unsmooth from blue island to orange one, so I would suggest to get it a more round way down. Polygons should be icy then to let the player hold contact with polygons and get their way through.

Bridges seem to be good for flagthrowing or just nading the bottom route, going up and down from/to the top route is smooth. At last I´ve to say, that the middle part has to many sceneries if you are going to let the baseparts the way they are now, bases look ... empty ...

Nice map, though :)

interesting map, I see you have a lot of flagger suuport (when both teams have the flag)
map is very clean, shading and style are awesome
I like those medkits and nades in the upper and lower route

you could have made those amaranth scenerys white, so they will be more usefull :/
was that intentional?
and wtf is this? xD

Its quite big vertical which means its easy to miss a player when rushing. Which makes standoffs quite common, also the flowers are good hiding places which can be a bit of fun, so all in all a solid map.

1st pic: seems I verlooked sth. Maybe I correct this after its been waypointed. Just in case someone does ^^

2nd pic: misplaced em, didnt care for removing them again as theyre apparently outside of the playing area ;)

Looks nice, and could have good gameplay potential. I'll comment further when I play it.

Can't see map very interesting. Random polyislands behind bases suits only for flagger. Also the only bullet collides are there to block the game :S.

Looks are fine, except the new red scenery which I can't see fitting in the map.

Map is old styled, hard to cap, spawning + finding the first enemy takes long. Ok for public.

Amaranth is one of the worst songs in Dark Passion Play and the map can't do much better comparing your other maps.
