Can't login?

If your username contains special non-ASCII characters, we will most likely need to rename your account.  This is due to our work tonight that greatly changed how user authentication occurs.  This change will allow a lot more neat things in the future when there are multiple sites, games, or other applications that you want to be a member of, allowing account-sharing across sites.

I analyzed this beforehand, only about 40 accounts on the Soldat Forums have these special characters.  Of these accounts, only one or two are actual regular users.  You will all notice that † has had his account renamed to OneGram (though he doesn't know that yet).  On that note, we'll rename his account to whatever he wants if OneGram isn't good for him.

Please post here or in the maintenance thread if you see anything wrong on the forums.

I'll look into that avatar problem.

For the record, I am only changing names for people who cannot login.  After the changes we've made, it is no longer just a matter of changing someone's name in the forum preferences, we have to change it manually in the SMF database and in the authentication backend.  Don't PM me asking for name changes.  I am only changing account names for people whose names contained special characters that prevented them from logging in.

Negative, it doesn't work either. Apparently my .png avatars don't work. And where's the rules page which contains the rules for avatars/sigs?
