Battleye server: failed to update
« on: April 27, 2009, 11:08:28 am »
I play Soldat 1.5 using Wine on Ubuntu 9.04. After a few minutes of playing I am getting kicked with the following error:

Battleye server: failed to update
Vitamin has been kicked for battleye violation

I have tried to reinstall soldat several times (complete reinstall, with deleting files in Application Data folder), nothing helps.

Have you any suggestions for possible solution?

Try to manually update: http://www.battleye.com/download.html

I cannot guarantee that BE will work with Wine in the future though.

Vitamin, it will help if you follow the instructions. You have to find Soldat's appdata in Wine.

Centurion, if he wants to get banned, he should do exactly that.

i got the same error here, and i use windows XP
i've tried to reinstall soldat, download BE from official site, delete BE and let it download on soldat..
none of these have worked, i guess there's some kind of glitch
maybe i should go back to 1.42

Which error do you get ? failed to update?
make sure you manualy update the BE to the APPLICATION DATA and not the Soldat directory itself!

Yes, i get kicked by the error: failed to update

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Soldat\BattlEye
C:\Documents and Settings\[User name]\Application Data\Soldat\BattlEye

I copied the files to soldat directory (C:\Program files...blabla), and also to these 2 directories above (whitch didn't exist, i had to create them)

There are no other soldat directories on my pc, so those were my only options. And i'm still getting kicked...

[User Name] is your user name...

If you can't find this folder, perform a file/folder search.

Yeah you don't have to create them :<
the "Application Data" Directory is hiden, so you should show hiden files by windows.
It could help if you had IRC so we would've helped you online. ::)

You can also go to Start->Run and enter %appdata%.

i know [user name] is my user name xD
i found the directories through the %appdata% tip, they just had another name because windows language here is not English
copied the files from www.battleye.com and now soldat is running perfectly
