EnEsCe's test says it works but no...
« on: June 01, 2009, 08:45:44 am »
Hello,

I tried to test the new Dedicated Server 2.6.5.
I forwarded the right ports: 23073 TCP/UDP and 23083 UDP.
I ran the server and it started to work well. But when I opened up the Soldat Client and requested for servers, it showed that my server has 9999 ping.
I decided to try EnEsCe's port tester and it said that all ports were working correctly and server would work.
I looked up the console and I saw "72.232.225.70:52675 requesting game..." but [eC] Test never joined the server.

I have opened same ports in firewall and now everything should work, but no....

You can't join your own server via lobby/internet IP. It will always show 9999 ping to you regardless. You have to get somebody else to test your server; if the port tester says it worked then people will be able to join. And the [eC] Test spectator isnt a part of the port tester anymore, was removed in 1.5.

Oh, lot of new info which I havent heard before. Thanks! Helped a lot.

EDIT: Btw, what does "Admin failed to connect (<ip>)" means. I get those messages randomly. Does it means that a few players cant connect to the server?

It means that admin failed to connect(entered wrong password etc). Do you have auto-restart program or sth like that?

No, I just simply ran the server. No-one ever joined the server. I'm confused.
I added the logfile where you can see the issue.

What? I always do and I never had a problem with it.
