Gostek problem
« on: May 28, 2009, 05:33:17 pm »
Yesterday I tested my work in progress warhammer 40k mod in 1.5 for the first time. I was frustrated to find that my space marine gostek has suddenly developed a somewhat serious problem (in addition to generally being a bit ugly). There are black rectangles behind the arms (see picture).
Only this gostek has this problem. I re-copied the gostek from my 1.4 folder to make sure it wasn't a corrupted file or something. The boxes aren't there in 1.4.2. I checked all the parts of the arm, and the ranny parts, to make sure they were all in order.
Anyone have any idea what's happening?
edit: Doubled size of picture, added an old picture from 1.4.

Hands are dlon. Looks like your dlon-2.bmp is messed up.

Re-checked dlon2, and there shouldn't be anything wrong with it, though I don't think the problem is with dlon, or even with one of the 2s. :-\
The boxes are there whether I'm facing left or right, and extend all along the arm. The right-facing pic is to show that this wasn't here when using the same gostek in 1.4.

Can you upload your gostek folder here in a zip?

I would, but I just fixed it. Through an awful lot of trial-and-error I figured out it was the rekas. When I checked them, they were for some reason black-and-white only (if I tried to put red on them, for example, it turned up gray instead), so I copy-pasted reka into a blank file in paint to make it into a color image then saved over the original, and it worked. Don't know why this is only a problem in 1.5 though.
