@Foxconn: You are young, things can change.

@Psycho: It depends I believe. There are many programmers out there who need glasses, and compared to other industries that need less work with the computer the IT-branch has higher numbers of people wearing glasses. I can't give you any statistics, though.

I'm 19.

Statistically, there is a larger percentage of people with shortsightedness (or nearsightedness) than there were before the advent of computers. It is the general consensus that the two are linked.

You get nearsighted if you work a lot in conditions where you have to stare at something really close. Reading... bla bla bla, computing bla bla bla... etc

I have a hard time recognizing faces more than 4 meters away without them, but I'm not blind.

Really, the only way carrots will do your eyes any good, is by inserting them straight into your eye socket. You could get laser surgery but it's pretty expensive (though check, it may be partially covered by your health insurance. Yes I have glasses, and I've had them since  I was 10.

Do you live in America? The American health insurance plain sucks. Everyone should watch Sicko by Michael Moore to know how bad it is.

Yeah, documentaries like that are always totally legit.  Totally.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.
