Any acoustic guitarists out there?
« on: December 19, 2010, 04:15:27 pm »
Right. Andy Mckee, Tommy Emmanuel, Antoine Dufour, Gareth Pearson, Joe Robinson, Don Ross, Erik Mongrain and Michael Hedges.
If you know anything about these guys - what do ya think of them?

Myself, I've learnt a few of Tommy's songs, a few of Andy's and one of Antoine's - currently working on Hunter's Moon by Andy Mckee.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II39Y9yrmB0

i can play romance de amor, classical gas and comptine d'un autre été on acoustic, but i think this is as far as i can get at the moment

Ahh yees, classical gas and guitar boogie are awesome - all of Tommy's songs are immense though!.
Are you more on the classical line?
I like comptine d'un autre été...

Ahh yea Sungha Jung is pretty incredible for his age too.
Andy is most famous for 'Drifting', though his new album 'Joyland' is pretty darn sweet..

Peter Finger certainly has another different style.. not the cleanest sound, but fascinating.
He's a good guitarist - fast fingers... though some of his concepts seem a bit out of place in some of his songs imo.

Yeah, I don't analyze too much. Easy for me though since I don't play.

I like this guys zoned-out of his mind demeanor.  :D

And I don't know what to make of this, borders on creepy.

Heh. Yeah he's pretty fixated on some invisible thing in the middle-distance right there....
Reminded me of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOgNfxURpzw
That guy is actually very good, but just the start makes me smile a lil.

And as for the other vid. You're right. That is creepy. o.0

Yea thats about as far as I got, but its sounds weird if you aren't using a baritone guitar. Probably about 2 or 3 half steps higher than the original. And I ain't that good anyway to learn that whole thing nor do I want to abnormally grow my left hand fingernails.

Left hand??... Oh - are you left handed?
Every nail he has except his right thumb is trimmed right down.
Baritone's are 4 semi's lower than standard.
