Help w. Soldat & Vista
« on: December 24, 2008, 06:23:12 am »
Greets,
I'm having trouble with installing/playing Soldat in Windows Vista,

Every time I try to play it I get this message:

Soldat has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Any clues? I tried installing the latest version of DirectX but the same message came.

Thanks,
Dabbi

Right click on the Soldat Icon > Properties > Security > check the "Run As Administrator" box.

If you can't, you have to do something complex to enable it or something.

@GunZlinGeR, didn't work
@SpiltCoffee There wasn't a checkbox with "run as administrator" but there was "permissions" and I checked "full permission for everyone" but that didn't work either :)

Any more ideas with what could be wrong?

My brother has vista, aparently sometimes just running it in compatibility mode works, run it under win 98 compatibility mode or win XP. do it by right click    > properties and just search around for it.

Oops, my bad. Go to the Compatibility tab and tick the Run as Administrator checkbox.

I have exactly the same problem when I try to open it just double clicking. It runs correctly when I right click it and select "run as a adminstrator".
Soldat since 1.0.5
