It's because it's orbit is messed up and passes through neptune's orbit, and apparently to be a planet you need to clear the path of your orbit or something :s which would mean that even neptune is a planet, so people are complaining blabla

I thought it had more to do with the moon-planet focal point of gravity.  As long as the center of gravity is within the planet, it can be considered as such.  Charon is almost as large as Pluto, so they sort of orbit around each other.

Crazy scientists.  Why can't they just say that a planet is a body that orbits around a star and has other bodies orbiting around it?

BTW, I know Pluto's path intersects with Neptune; does that mean they'll collide at some point?
