For example this one map (cant remember it but it's an earlier map) people always throw nades down a little chute and bomb the flag to all oblivion. sorry but I don't support the idea.

You're thinking of ctf_Kampf.  I would like that map a lot more if the sides were symmetrical; right now I think alpha has the advantage (easier to get in and out of bravo base).  I do like it now though, because it promotes teamwork.  You generally need squads of three or more rushing at once to capture the flag, or just a lot of luck.

I think I may have confused a few of you.  Let me explain what I mean:

The grenade would be seperate from the frag grenade, and you would cycle to them.  If you picked up cluster nades, the smokes would be unaffected.  When they detonate, they would release a swarm of smoke sparks that would linger and act like normal smoke, seeking the highest ground gradually in a closed area.  It would last maybe 5-10 seconds, and would not do anything besides conceal your view, maybe even act as a visual blocker in R/S.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

that sounds like a lot of programming. i don't think it will be implemented, since it is only useful for realistic mode.

and for it to act like a polygon (blocking view) sounds even harder to program.

pfft... 1.6 was like years ago lol. :P and if you have a computer so crappy that it doesnt run 1.5 (or 1.6) smoke then you shouldnt be playing it imo, lol.

as for the smoke nades... it seems like a flaw to it would be people changing the sprites to something completely clear, therefore giving the effect to them that there was nothing there... but others would see a big annoying cloud.

I think a smoke nade isn't that good for a tactical play, cause Soldat is not a 3D game like CS! If you through a smoke nade there is no effect for other players and for you! It's just like a big fart in the map!

For my Opinion a flash bang or a flash nade, which blinds all the players who are looking in its explotion, would be more effectiv for a tactical play!
