I made this not too long ago, its fairly basic and should be able to be completed by almost anyone. Enjoy.

too much little triangles, and more triangles, just like others, they looks made by a "newbie", no offence...

*cough* spam *cough*

Try to merge the triangles to give the map a more solid look. So instead of all the loose single polygons try making solid pieces consisting of multiple polygons. Which then, can also be shaded.
I like the texture though, could you tell which one you've used?

Well its a texture called text_fung, im not too sure if its custum or not, but some how or rather I have it  ???. I'd be happy to send it to you if youd like to use it though. I sort of rushed this map, hence the messy/unshaded triangles but I quite liked the idea of someting different to the rest of all other maps, so I stuck with it. Anyway thanks for the feedback and I'm just about finished on another map, which I have used a little bit more shading on. =]

The polys do make the map look newbish; try to put some more effort on the polys next time, like connecting them vertex-by-vertex.

Its easy to connect them if you just use grid.

Try to make 90% of your map with grid.
