My friend Smokey and I were playing CTF on Equinox. The score was tied at 4, and I was escorting him as he captured the flag. He dropped down to the lower area, with me directly behind him. I took out the lone pursuer with my trusty ruger. About this time our flag was captured. Once we got past the bridge, I didn't see any more pursuers, so I said (we were on TeamSpeak) "Let me get in front of you." He paused for a sec and I passed him. Almost immediately I got hit with a LAW rocket. Smokey tore apart the firer (who was also the EFC) with his desert eagles, then returned the flag and scored.
The moral of the story? Never let the FFC go alone. It's a great feeling to know that you took the hit for your friend, and that action caused your team to win. That means more than any score you might get at the end of the game. It's incredibly rare to find a video game that gives you this feeling, and it's this sort of thing that's the reason I love Soldat.
