Text file editing

The file to edit the notices 'you've been killed by...' is made in an old version of notepad. Is there a way to not screw it up and still edit it without going into dos?

In 'TXT' folder, there's a notepad titled 'default'. You can edit every single word of text in the game. I havn't edited so I don't know if it works or anything. I think it has all the text. It might not.

Update: Lol. I changed the selfkill message and it ****ed everything up. I think the new message has to be shorter or as long as the original.

Updatex2: To fix it, go into config and select your language again.

Are you sure it has to be shorter or same length?

I'm not sure, actually. I edited it to 'You killed yourself, idiot.' and it made the 'start' button say "unregistered version" or something. I figured the extra text kicked back the message.

Well I managed to edit it with less than the max amount of letters. it all seems fine.
Thanks. So basically, use less or same amount.

Well I use Notepad ++ and it seems to work. I'll try making it longer and see what happens.

You dont need to download anything. Use DOS editor (write "edit" in command mode).
Fix and disable this "C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE" It's a harmful trojan.

Or simply use Notepad ++ which I didn't need to install and it works.
Thanks anyway.

No, no, no. Normal old notepad works as long as Format > Word Wrap is NOT checked.
