A connection problem would surprise me.  I have 4 MB cable and an "Excellent" connection from my bedroom, so it shouldn't be that.  I guess it could have just been the server.

AVG, and NOD32 have already updated their viruses signatures database. Now AVG and NOD32 should work with Soldat without any problems (as others anitiviruses). If you use AVG or NOD32 just use update.
