Only the bots that don't know how to jet are flame victims.

Not true! I currently show 33 kills with the flamethrower, and I can usually get at least 2-3 victims per bonus.  I use the ten seconds of invincibility to dart straight into enemy camp to make it safely there and attack. The real problem with it as a weapon is the range and how the fire obscures your vision somewhat. I don't believe the fire binks, but ideally it would to make it a better weapon and help counteract the lag that can sometimes cripple it.
What server do you play on? I was looking for an Inf or Ctf bonus server that ain't filled with too many noobs.

!Elite Party. :) Be warned that it's a mixture of standard CTF and other game modes of sorts. Still, I love the flamethrower and think it must be strictly a lag/weapons mod issue. Still wish it'd be balanced and made a primary. :(

the soldatforums one is the only one i know with bonuses enabled that isn't some lame pub that a major made.

Flamethrower should deal much more damage. I can't remember if it renders you immortal as long as you hold it, but otherwise it's kinda useless.

I support making it better.

No more damage on it, just make the fire interval 1 and even lower the damage a bit if necessary.  This way it would be much more like a steady flow of fire.  If you don't know what I'm talking about mod your flamer's fire interval to 1 and test it out with bots.  It's much much better visually.

I just was playing in the soldatforums server and encountered this 3 times.  Once I had it, and twice they had it and it barely damaged me.  I'm 99% sure it isn't lag.

for what its worth, we were in a WM server.  Maybe it is a bug with flamers in WM servers?  were any of you guys in WM servers?


I highly doubt this is just lag

I owned 4 people in a row with it earlier today in the forum server, and my average ping is 33-50.

samething is happening with minigun, if you play against bots minugunner they could kill you in the matter of seconds but when you are playing online sometime it takes you full clip to kill someone( somebody should fix that )

because of the lag man, bots has the same amount of health as players

and bots has better aim than players

Err... actually true to some extent, but they can't foresee where the player will be when the shot will "hit" him/her - which makes 'em easy cookies to pick out.

Indeed.
This is also affected by the "Bot Seeing Quality" in the Soldat Setup.
Illumination is not reached by visualizing the light but by exploring the darkness.
