The Geologist's htf_Muck
« on: December 10, 2006, 01:26:30 pm »
htf_Muck was The Geologist's ESL 2005 mapping contest submission (the guideline was a swamp-themed HTF map). I'd originally waypointed this, but that was when HTF was still new (yes, that's how old this map is ;D), and I was still learning the ropes and I accidentally waypointed it DM-style. Here it is, rewaypointed:

Nah, that's definitely the wrong texture.  I'll search around for it, but I'm guessing it's on my old computer, as usual :(

Oh, and I'll upload Erbium again today. Danke.

Well, there are a few textures that could work, but "malaga" seems to be the best of the three imo.  Check out the overview.

The greens don't come out as brightly with a darker texture, which is how it should be.

The layout is a little elongate, yes...but if you actually look at the spawn placement and the fact there is only one flag, it's nothing like a ctf map.

Okay, malaga it is. I'll go edit the threadstarter, then.

@ultraman and Death MachineX350: the spawns are very HTF-appropriate. Teams do not spawn all on one side (rather, the opposite; it's chaotic, how HTF should be).

Too small for Ctf, Thats a nice map but with large, open areas it might become a spray fest?

He knows; he's just posting in response to those who think it seems like a CTF that it's too small to serve as one.
