Karmazon takes the initiative
« on: December 17, 2006, 11:24:51 pm »
I was playing on U13 CTF with a few members of the LAW clan.  Suddenly, a guy I've never seen before joins, and he has our clan tag.  This surprised me, but since I have another member of our clan handle recruiting, I thought, "Well, maybe he joined recently."  Turns out he did.  Good old Karmazon told him, without our knowledge, that he could join our clan.  I admit that when we realized what happened, we had a good laugh, and the other guy was nice enough and removed the tag right away.

Anyway, I'm curious.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Has someone ever told you that you could join a clan, and you found out later that the clan members didn't know about it?

I, too am supprised by the positive attitude you all had about the whole thing.  At least the guy was nice enough to remove the tag. :)

Well, you have to understand the irony of the situation.  I'm too lazy to test everyone who wants to join, so I let another clan member do it.  It was funny because I was the clan LEADER, and this person could legitimately be in the clan without my knowledge.  The initial humor was in my ignorance.

Then I find out that someone is going around accepting people into other peoples' clans.  A good deal of humor is based on randomness, and this was a shining example.  Besides, we're too informal of a clan to get seriously upset about this sort of thing.  No practices, no major requirements, no real events, etc.  We're basically a bunch of guys with a tag in front of our names.

By the way, there's already a Law clan, they play Realistic mode, and pretty much reign over the Realsol servers.

Yes, I met them once on Leos.  They started whining and saying that we should change our name, even though our tags are different ({LAW}, LAW|) and we don't play the same game mode.  Then they wanted to have a clan match.  I accepted, but they never followed through.

I used to "recruit" people to UT in their server while the UT members were playing in there. Lots of fun.

Ok I was gonna wait for this thread to develop further before commenting, but I guess it's not developing anymore.

Anymore, the real story is: I was playing cussing out all the players as usual, then I saw you asking that guy, seralty, or whatever who authorized him to join. I said "I did" just to fuck with you and I guess that guy went along with it, and said that I did it. Truth is, I didn't do it, I have never seen that guy, never talked to him, and that was my first time playing in U13 in a long time. The end.

Heh.  That's interesting, since he wouldn't have had the clan tag if he didn't think he was in a clan, and he wouldn't have removed it if he was in a clan other than ours.  No matter.  I still [applaud]ed you because I got a kick out of the whole thing.

I always found masquerading as clan leaders and abusively dismissing members of the same clan rather entertaining :D
