Headphone Cords: Help

I don't know if any of you have experience with this but I'll ask anyways.
My headphones are breaking

This image basically shows whats going on...  The things still work, because the white wire is still connected, but that wont last long.



This anyone ever happen to anyone else?  Do you know of any remedies?  'Cause they're like $50 headphones.  They vibrate and everything.

1) most headphone wires have some kind of coating on them that prevent them from being soldered or repaired
2) Some brands, like sennheiser, come with a detachable cord that you can buy a replacement for


Unless yours have a replaceable cord, which they clearly don't.... you're fscked.

Twist the wires back together and cover the mess with electrical tape. Maybe that'll work.
