Hi,i made a deathmatch map.i made it a bit simple but added alot of things.

polys:231
scenery:132
bot support/waypointed:no/no
custom scenery:no
texture:yes
shadeing:yes
Recommended players:8

If you would like to way point it PM me then i will make another topic or modify this one.
I hope this map will be much more unique then my other maps that i made which had many flaws.i added some platforms so there wouldnt be so much space.CREDITS go to AVARAX for his cs crates.i also made an overview.ENJOY.

looks more like ctf_death to me, ctf_death is a capturetheflag map bytheway.
ugly shading, ugly texture selection, lack of scenery, awful background, hideous tower...

well what texture would be good? and i don get what you meen by shadeing i put green shading for grass and light brown for dirt.was i suppose to make the shading green,blue,orange or something i dont get it im soo confused ???

That's not really shading in most experienced mappers' perspectives.

Like, say you are standing on the street with the sun above, no clouds.  You cast a shadow and a portion of the street is now "shaded."

Basically, those platforms and everything else should be casting shadows onto the ground below it.  But that would mean you need to work more on poly placement.

Hey, its a large improvement. Here are some (lots of) improvements:
1. That tower is buttugly. Start out with grid make it tighter add some symmetry, and put some scenery in front of it.
2. The bridge is kinda weird. try to make it thinner and add a slight bend to it. At minimum add some supports to it. It would also be neat to have water beneath itt too.
3. Shading: You have gotten to step 2 in the 3 step shading process. First add another layer to your stuff in the future. This way you can have 3 colors instead of 2. Now you need to find a light source, maybe add a sun. Then anything that blocks its rays adds a shadow to things behind it. Just make all the things in the shadow darker, but not too dark.
4. Once its shaded you can go to all the tight corners and fix them up. add a poly or 3 to make them smooth. be sure to color them to the color of their surroundings.

5. Scenery: GET MORE SCENERY. I saw like 3 kinds of trees, a few boxes, and some sandbags. In polyworks, in the top right window there is the opacity thingey, set it to 45-60 and place lots of scenery in the back. Preferably near other scenerys in the middle so that the user can see the contrast.

Well thats all for now. Take this into consideration.

I like the colors and that blue cloud at the top.

But it looks like you tried to make it simmetrical and did a bad job.
And this map looks too much like a ctf, you should probably make a ctf version.
There are other worlds than these

ds dude, youre getting better at this! youre starting to grasp the whole shading concept, and scenery usage. in your next map though, Id put in a considerable ammount of scenery and shading. consult me if ya want any opinions! ttyl bud
