This is gonna be a relief. It was annoying to scroll past those huge images that would take up half the screen.

'tis the point   people will eventually learn to post links to big pictures either instead of or along with their image tag links

I increased the max size to be 1024 pixels now, instead of 600. 

btw, those are pictures of the datacenter that this server and my other chicago servers are in

Imho, 600 was better. Those still cause a scrollbar for me since I use 1024x768. And think of those who still use 800x600.

Something related:

When you set an image in your signature in your profile (and in a post as well I presume), it locks the height and width automatically. This causes "dynamic" pictures (stat images from U13, my Last.fm image, etc) to be displayed disformed when they change over time.

Is this a thing that can be changed easily?

To fix resizing use a smaller sig image. I just used the smiley image (with [img]) in my siggy and it displays fine.

in my signature (in my profile page), it automatically adds the current height and width when I press update (there's no way to leave this out)

Then if I listen to songs with longer tags, the image will become wider too.

I'm sure you have an awesome taste in music, but fixing the image resize bug (if it exists) isn't worth it

Anyhow, u13 does not dynamically change image sizes.

yeah, the u13 images don't change size.

There really isn't anything we can do about this without spending days digging through code, changing, breaking, and fixing things.  The fault should really be on the person who makes the image that is dynamically changing size; s/he shouldn't have it change size :-/

the reason that they [the forum makers] have it this way is because if they don't keep the size along with it, they have to check the size of the image every time it is viewed to make sure it wasn't altered from the time that the person changed their profile to have it shown.

for example, if someone links a small picture, below our size ceiling, and then they go and change it to something absolutely friggin huge, this will keep it from being large since the page will keep it resized to what it used to be.

Even if we were on crack and had the time/means to alter this, I don't think I'd want to
