And phiktion, if you're dead set on finding a better game than Soldat go and program one. You can't do much better than what Soldat's done to the '2D Online Multiplayer Side-Scrolling Mouse Controlled' shooter genre.

It says quite clearly on the website- I personally can't wait. There also seems to be four player as well 

Also, why does almost everybody on this forum seem to hate Cortex Command? The movement is a bit slow, but that's what jetpack is for. Theres also a crapload of mods on the forum.

That was pretty weird for me, too, but in the manual there is also the ability to tweak speed controls (use 1 to speed up and 2 to slow down, above Tab)
