I think it's interesting how when rainrider said he was going to make this, everyone said:
Please do not make this.
It could be fun, but I believe that maps made by a generator would never be as good as human made maps.
You shouldnt try this, it will be a waste of time.
i dont think there's really a need for a tool like this

However, when he decided not to make it, responses like this started happening:
that sucks, I was really looking forward to see how you did it and how it turned out
ow, too bad, the idea sounds great...
Shame, coulda been fun to play around with
Random map generator would be so intresting..too bad you gave up.

What is this? You only support people after they quit?

... that makes no sense.  none of the people you quoted said different things before and after.   If you quoted the same people before and after, then you'd have a point

Yes, but for some reason most people who supported it didn't speak up until after rainrider said he quit working on it.  That was kind of my point.

Nice idea, pretty hard to implement to Soldat. I will be working on this one alone with Freebasic for now. Mainly trying to get a somekind of a triagle generator. Afterwards I will try to release the stuff, so someone MIGHT en up with something interesting stuff for this project.

I think a map generator is a great idea. Because a map generator could have inputs from a soldat server depending of results in soldat matches and statistics.
Making soldat maps on the fly and people will download them.

I think some people here could have very interesting ideas in 'soldat server'-'map generator' interaction.

It could be fun, but I believe that maps made by a generator would never be as good as human made maps. (Not counting the sucky maps.)
It it much more  possible if it was automatic. Think about it it would create maps of all types 24/7. Then you just have a program who delete all the similar maps (like maps who have nearly the same structure). It would come up whit every map possible! mush better than map makers who are so slow at making maps (i mean good maps). If there were only people on earth who thinks that map creating sux and soldat ownz it would work. But it would take the humanism out of maps the maps would be called some thing like map_ctf_128371892031. really boring.. Map creators are good so i think we keep em its like finding a robot who plays soldat for you or does ur math. ;)

Anyway i think its time to lock this tread.
